SCHOOL
The
Regular Meeting of the Corsica-Stickney Board of Education was held on Monday,
March 9, 2026 – 7:00 p.m. in Classroom “A” of Corsica-Stickney High School.
Members
Present: Jeremy Wright, President; Chad Clites, Darci Neugebauer, Micheal
Plooster, and Shannon Tolsma
Members
Absent: Roxann Gerlach and Jennifer Van Gorp
Officers
Present: Scott Muckey, Superintendent; Brittney
Eide, Secondary Principal; Ferra Kemp, Elementary Principal and Angie Feenstra,
Business Manager.
A
time of silent prayer was had prior to the start of the meeting.
President
Wright called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. and a quorum was established.
The Pledge of Allegiance preceded the approval of the meeting agenda.
No
presentations were made.
Motion
by Plooster second by Neugebauer to approve the agenda as presented. Motion
carried.
There
were no conflicts of interest to disclose.
Motion
by Plooster second by Tolsma to approve the minutes from the February 9, 2026
Regular Board Meeting. Motion carried.
Motion
by Tolsma second by Neugebauer to approve the February 2026 Financial
Statement. Motion carried.

Report with a beginning balance of $61,209.14, disbursements of $5,988.06,
receipts of $11,532.00, for an ending balance of $66,753.08. Motion
carried.

by Tolsma second by Plooster to approve the March 2026 listing of bills. Motion
carried.

Motion
by Neugebauer second by Plooster to authorize the business manager to secure
Schoenfish & Co. for the FY2026 audit. Motion carried.
Motion
by Neugebauer second by Plooster to approve the resignations of Nicole Reichert
as Cross-Country Coach and Jacquelin Boyle as 6-12 Math and JH Volleyball Coach
effective the end of the 25-26 school year. Motion carried.
The
board would like to thank each of them for their contributions to the district through
the years.
Motion
by Clites second by Neugebauer to approve the signed contracts of Allyson
Anthony, Jaden Barse, Nathan Blom, Jason Broughton, Lorisa Broughton, Linzi
DeBoer, Jessica DeVries, Kristine Gillette, Kay Herrboldt, Callie Hohn, Kylee
Hongslo, Michelle Koch, Mandy Lewis, Cassity Maas, Becky, Matlock, Jenna
Menning, Sheryl Muckey, LaDawn Nelson, Nicole Reichert, Hannah Reimnitz, Kelly
Selland, Katie Strand, and Christina Strid and for the 2026-2027 year. Motion
carried. (Tolsma abstained).
Principal
Eide announced that Jacque Boyle has been chosen as the Corsica-Stickney
Teacher of the Year. The CBH Academic Festival was recently held in Mitchell.
Upcoming events include the Girls State B Tournament in Watertown, spring
sports starting and practices for the 3-act play.
Principal
Kemp recently had Read Across America Week at the elementary. The elementary
spring concert will be held on March 16.
Other
items discussed were legislative updates, Freshman Impact, and a dividend check
from EMC.
Executive Session –
SDCL 1-25-2 (1) Personnel Matter
At
7:40 p.m., motion by Tolsma second by Clites to go into executive session to
discuss personnel matter pursuant to SDCL 1-25-2(1). Motion carried. Declared
out of executive session at 8:25 p.m. by President Wright.
Motion
by Clites second by Tolsma to offer agreements for the 2026-2027 school year to
the following classified staff: Luke Bamberg, Adam Bormann, Rod Bormann, Cindy
Bosma, Kristie Burke, Lindsey Denning, Mackenzie Denning, Brenda Dykstra, Jonathan
Hayashi, Ronald Heidinger, Josh Kemp, Cindy Koster, Connie Matzner, Doris
Metzger, Janet Moser, Phyllis Muilenburg, Rocky Nelson, Jodie Nichols, Gregg
Olawsky, Phyllis Pennings, Dennis Plooster, Elaine Plooster, Micheal Plooster,
Larry Schoenrock, Sherry Schumacher, Jean Van Genderen, Jessica Van Genderen, Brian
Vilhauer, Kyle Wieczorek, Jerry Wisdom, Craig Wixon, Jason Wolbrink, Aaron
Wright, and Gavin Zomer. Motion carried. (Plooster abstained).
There
being no further business, at 8:26 p.m., motion by Tolsma second by Plooster to
adjourn. Motion carried. The next regular meeting date will be April 13, 2026
at 7:00 p.m. in Classroom “A” of the Corsica-Stickney High School.
