REGULAR MEETING APRIL 14, 2025 7:00 P.M. CLASSROOM
A CORSICA-STICKNEY HIGH SCHOOL
The Regular Meeting of the Corsica-Stickney
Board of Education was held on Monday, April 14, 2025 7:00 p.m. in Classroom
A of Corsica-Stickney High School.
Members Present: Chad Clites, Vice-President; Roxann
Gerlach, Darci Neugebauer, Micheal Plooster, and Jennifer Van Gorp
Members Absent: Shannon Tolsma & Jeremy
Wright
Officers Present: Scott Muckey, Superintendent; Brittney Eide,
High School Principal; Ferra Kemp, Elementary Principal and Angie Feenstra,
Business Manager.
A time of silent prayer was held prior to the
start of the meeting.
Vice-President Clites called the meeting to
order at 7:00 p.m. and a quorum was established. The Pledge of Allegiance
preceded the approval of the meeting agenda.
There were no conflicts of interest to
disclose.
Motion by Gerlach second by Van Gorp to approve
the agenda with additions as presented. Motion carried.
Motion by Plooster second by Neugebauer to
approve the minutes from the March 10, 2025 Regular Board Meeting. Motion carried.
Motion by Plooster second by Gerlach to approve
the March 2025 Financial Statement. Motion carried.

Motion by Van Gorp second by Neugebauer to
approve the March 2025 Custodial Account Report with a beginning balance of
$56,052.36, disbursements of $18,885.92, receipts of $22,195.39, for an ending
balance of $59,361.83. Motion carried.
Motion by Plooster second by Gerlach to approve
the April 2025 listing of bills. Motion carried.

Motion by Gerlach second by Van Gorp to approve
the minutes of the April 9, 2025 Core Education Coop meeting. Motion carried.
Motion by Gerlach second by Neugebauer to
approve the minutes of the March 18, 2025 Mid-Central Coop meeting. Motion
carried.
Motion by Neugebauer second by Gerlach to
approve the employee agreements for the 2025-2026 school year of the following
classified staff:
Luke Bamberg, Adam Bormann, Rod Bormann, Cindy Bosma, Owen Buchholz, Kristie
Burke, Lindsey Denning, Mackenzie Denning, Brenda Dykstra, Carl Faber, Jonathan
Hayashi, Ronald Heidinger, Josh Kemp, Cindy Koster, Connie Matzner, Doris
Metzger, Janet Moser, Phyllis Muilenburg, Al Munneke, Rocky Nelson, Jodie
Nichols, Scott Nichols, Gregg Olawsky, Linzi Olinger, Phyllis Pennings, Dennis
Plooster, Elaine Plooster, Micheal Plooster, Larry Schoenrock, Sherry
Schumacher, Jean Van Genderen, Jessica Van Genderen, Kyle Wieczorek, Jason
Wolbrink, and Gavin Zomer. Motion carried with Plooster abstaining.
Business Manager Feenstra gave an update on the
schools health insurance plan after recently attending the Northern Plains
Insurance Pool annual meeting.
Motion by Van Gorp second by Neugebauer to
approve the School Board Resolution authorizing the Corsica-Stickney School
District #21-3 membership in the South Dakota High School Activities
Association for the period beginning July 1, 2025 and ending on June 30, 2026. UPON ROLL CALL VOTE: Aye-Gerlach, Neugebauer,
Plooster, Van Gorp, and Clites. Nay None. Absent Tolsma & Wright.
Motion carried. A copy of this resolution is on file at the office of the
Corsica-Stickney School Superintendent.
Due to not using all snow days, the school year
will now end on May 16, 2025. Motion by Plooster second by Gerlach to approve
this calendar change. Motion carried.
The Corsica-Stickney School District will not
be having a school board election this year. Only two petitions were returned
for the two open positions. Incumbents Darci Neugebauer & Micheal Plooster
will assume positions for a 3-year term. Oaths of office will be done at the
July 2025 school board meeting.
Both principals reported on smarter balance
testing, music concerts and contests as well as other events that will be
coming up.
At 8:06 p.m., motion by Van Gorp second by Neugebauer
to go into executive session to discuss personnel matter pursuant to SDCL
1-25-2(1) and contract negotiations pursuant to SDCL 1-25-2(4). Motion carried.
Declared out of executive session at 8:56 p.m. by Vice-President Clites.
There being no further business, at 8:57 p.m., motion
by Plooster second by Neugebauer to adjourn. Motion carried. The next regular
meeting date will be Monday, May 12, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. in classroom A of the
Corsica-Stickney High School.
