UNAPPROVED MINUTES OF OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS
SPECIAL MEETING – NOVEMBER 19, 2014 – HIGH SCHOOL LIBRARY
A Special Meeting of the Corsica Board of Education was held on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. in the Corsica High School Library. The main purpose of this meeting was to canvass the poll book from the Corsica-Stickney School Board Election.
Members Present: Jeremy Wright, President; Bob Bamberg, Vanessa Miiller, Kent DeBoer, Jason Lagge, Nicole Bamberg, Jared Gerlach.
Officers Present: Vern DeGeest, Superintendent; Scott Muckey, Secondary Principal and Merna Bye, Business Manager.
Board Member Nicole Bamberg gave the opening prayer.
President Wright called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m. and a quorum was established. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Canvass of the
Poll Book
The board reviewed the poll book and tally sheet from the Corsica-Stickney School Board Election and found all to be correct. Motion by Miiller seconded by Nicole Bamberg that all was correct and the canvassing board sign the official documentation and submit to the Douglas County Auditor. Carried.
Others
Other items brought before the board was discussion on possible legislative changes to the capital outlay levy, timeline for hiring the superintendent and business manager for the Corsica-Stickney School District and bus repairs.
Executive Session
– SDCL 1-25-1 – Student Concern
At 6:35 p.m., motion by Lagge seconded by Gerlach to go into executive session to discuss a student concern. Carried. Declared out of executive session at 6:48 p.m. by the board president.
Adjourn
There being no further business, at 6:49 p.m., motion by Bob Bamberg seconded by Gerlach to adjourn. Motion carried.
