UNAPPROVED MINUTES OF OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS

SPECIAL MEETING-FEBRUARY 26, 2015 – CORSICA HIGH SCHOOL

A Special Meeting of the Corsica-Stickney School #21-3 Board of Education was held on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 6:42 p.m. in Classroom A of the Corsica High School. Main purpose of this meeting was to continue working on the Negotiated Agreements for the Corsica-Stickney School District.

Members Present: Jeremy Wright, President; Chad Clites, Bob Bamberg, Shannon Tolsma, and Nicole Bamberg

Members Absent: Jason Lagge and Don Odens

Officers Present: Scott Muckey, Corsica Secondary Principal, Ferra Kemp, Stickney Elementary Principal, Mary Lee Podhradsky, Stickney Business Manager and Merna Bye, Corsica School Business Manager.

President Wright called the meeting to order at 6:42 p.m. and a quorum was established.

Approve Agenda

Motion by Bob Bamberg seconded by Nicole Bamberg to approve the agenda with the additions as added. Carried.

Approve Minutes

Motion by Nicole Bamberg to approve the minutes of the February 11 and 19, 2015 Special Meetings. Seconded by Shannon Tolsma and carried.

Executive Session SDCL 1-25-2 (1) Personnel and SDCL 1-25-2 (4) Negotiations

At 6:44 p.m. motion by Bob Bamberg seconded by Shannon Tolsma to go into executive session to discuss personnel and negotiated agreements. Carried. Declared out of executive session at 10:27 p.m. by President Wright.

Approve Superintendent Contract

Motion by Shannon Tolsma to approve the signed superintendent contract of Scott Muckey for the Corsica-Stickney School District beginning July 1, 2015 in the amount of $70,000.00. This will be a two year contract and if other duties are assigned after consultation with the Board of education that compensation will be reflected in an amended contract. This motion was seconded by Nicole Bamberg and carried.

Approve Secondary Principal Contract

Motion by Bob Bamberg to approve the signed secondary principal contract of Justin Downes for the Corsica-Stickney School District beginning July 1, 2015 in the amount of $60,000.00. This will be a two year contract and if other duties are assigned, after consultation with the Board of Education then that compensation will be reflected in an amended contract. This motion was seconded by Chad Clites and carried.

Corsica-Stickney School Board Meetings Rate of Pay

Motion by Bob Bamberg to set the pay for the Corsica-Stickney Board of Education meetings that are held prior to July 1, 2015 at $60.00 president per meeting, $50.00 other members per meeting, $30.00 committee rate per meeting, $50.00 to the principals and business managers per meeting. Seconded by Shannon Tolsma and carried.

Others

Other items discussed were Infinite Campus, Career Counselor Information, committee listings for the Corsica-Stickney School District.

Adjourn

There being no further business, at 11:14 p.m., motion by Shannon Tolsma seconded by Nicole Bamberg to adjourn. Carried.
