UNAPPROVED MINUTES OF OFFICAL PROCEEDINGS

SPECIAL MEETING – JANUARY 14, 2015 – 6:00 P.M.

A Special Meeting of the Corsica-Stickney Board of Education was held on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in Classroom A of the Corsica High School. Purpose of this meeting was to meet with Tom Oster of Dakota Education Consulting and review the superintendent hiring process.

Members Present: Jeremy Wright, President, Chad Clites, Shannon Tolsma, Jason Lagge, Nicole Bamberg and Don Odens.

Members Absent: Bob Bamberg

Others President: Tom Oster, DEC and Merna Bye, Corsica School Business Manager.

President Jeremy Wright called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and a quorum was present.

Tom Oster – DEC

Tom Oster from Dakota Education Consulting presented information and reviewed the hiring of the superintendent for the Corsica-Stickney School District. The Board of Education will use the Group Method for input in the hiring process. Names of community members from both Corsica and Stickney were selected by the Corsica-Stickney Board and will be contacted and invited to serve on the Community Group. Certified and Classified staff in both districts will have the opportunity to sign up if they so desire to serve on the Faculty/Staff Group and those names will be selected by drawing.

Future Meetings

The following meeting dates were set: February 4, 2015 – 5:00 p.m. at Stickney School (candidate selection). February 11, 2015 – 3:45 p.m. at Corsica School (selected candidate interviews).

Other Items Discussed

It was the consensus of the Corsica-Stickney Board of Education that the offices in the Corsica School be the home office for the Superintendent and the Business Manager of the Corsica-Stickney School District.

There being no further business, at 9:05 p.m., motion by Tolsma to adjourn. Seconded by Nicole Bamberg and carried.
