UNAPPROVED MINUTES OF OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS

SPECIAL BOARD MEETING MINUTES

January 12, 2015 - 6:22 P.M.

The Board of Education of Corsica-Stickney School District #21-3 met in special session Monday, January 12, 2015 at 6:22 p.m. in Classroom A of the Corsica High School. Purpose of this meeting was to swear in the newly elected Corsica-Stickney Board of Education, elect the board officers and adopt the Corsica-Stickney recall policy.

Members present: Shannon Tolsma, Don Odens, Chad Clites, Jeremy Wright, Bob Bamberg, Nicole Bamberg and Jason Lagge.

Officers Present: Vern DeGeest, Corsica Superintendent, Robert Krietlow, Stickney Superintendent, Mary Lee Podhradsky, Stickney Business Manager and Merna Bye, Corsica Business Manager

Others Present: Scott Swier, School Attorney and Kris VanZee, Globe Reporter

Attorney Swier called the meeting to order at 6:22 p.m.

Merna Bye and Mary Lee Podhradsky swore in the board members of the Corsica-Stickney Board of Education.

Attorney Swier asked for nominations for the Board President of the Corsica-Stickney Board of Education.

Motion Bob Bamberg second Shannon Tolsma to nominate Jeremy Wright as Board President of the Corsica-Stickney Board of Education for the 2015-2016 term. Motion carried.

President Wright than asked for nominations for Vice -President of the Corsica-Stickney Board of Education.

Motion Don Odens second Bob Bamberg to nominate Chad Clites as the Vice -President. Motion carried.

RECALL POLICY

The recall policy written up by school attorney Scott Swier was presented to the board for their review. Motion by Jason Lagge seconded by Nicole Bamberg to adopt the recall policy effective for the 2015-2016 school year and that such policy be a part of the Negotiated Agreements. Carried. (A copy of this policy may be found in both the Corsica School and Stickney School Districts Policy Books located in the superintendent’s office.)

OTHERS

Other items discussed were the grade structure for the DOE Campus reporting and a list of the upcoming meetings was reviewed with Attorney Swier.

ADJOURN

There being no further business, at 7:22 p.m., motion by Nicole Bamberg to adjourn. Seconded by Shannon Tolsma and carried. The next meeting of the Corsica-Stickney Board of Education will be held on Monday, February 9, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at the Stickney School.
